Home Repair Program

Home Repair Program

Mitchell Regional Habitat for Humanity offers limited home repair support to help homeowners maintain safe, decent living conditions.
Our repair program focuses on practical, safety-focused improvements and guidance — designed as a hand up partnership with homeowners.
✅ Who May Qualify
Households must:
  • Own and live in the home
  • Be located in Davison or Hanson County
  • Have household income between 30%–60% of Area Median Income (AMI)
  • Demonstrate repair need and willingness to partner in the process
Income guidelines follow Habitat for Humanity program standards.

🔧 What We May Help With
Depending on available funding, volunteers, and project scope, assistance may include:
  • Accessibility and safety improvements
  • Small exterior repairs
  • Minor critical fixes
  • Aging-in-place modifications
  • Repair guidance and contractor referrals
Projects are evaluated individually based on safety, urgency, and capacity.

💲 Cost Sharing — How It Works
Habitat repair support is a partnership model.
  • Habitat may assist with small repairs and limited materials
  • Repairs exceeding $300 are the homeowner’s responsibility
  • We can help review options and connect homeowners with contractors when appropriate
This approach helps stretch limited resources to serve more households.

⚠️ Program Availability
Repair services are offered as staffing, volunteers, and funding allow.
At times, the number of projects we can accept may be limited.
